POST 20

This is the final blog and I have to talk about my experiences doing blogs and learning English, I have to say English wasn’t a priority on my schedule, however I have to say too I learn a little more of the language at the classes.

The use of the blogs was useful to me at least, I learn more about the writing, grammar and drafting of English, if I see how I write my first blogs (I uploaded them well-written) with respect to my blogs of this last time, I can see an improvement. The time that I spent in write a blog, change from the start of the semester to this blog, now I draft English in less time.

In English I need improve how I listen the English, the most of times I don’t listen the words or I don’t understand them. I need improve my vocabulary and my grammar. And the ways that I want to improve English are travelling or watching TV-series or films with subtitles, occasionally I see series or videos about 10 minutes in English without subtitles.

Those days, the use of English is huge, either for the papers that we have to study, the music, films, information or if we want buy a thing on internet.

I think that one of my English language challenge, a really important one, I don’t like English, and well I don’t like the grammar in general, even in Spanish.

About other languages, I want to learn French or Russian but French is closer to me.

POST 19

My study programme have many math and many chemistry (well, I am study chemistry haha), I love my curriculum of my career, however, I also have afraid of the math’s subjects, I don’t know what I have to expect, but I want to approve all my subject in the first occasion if I can.

The curriculum of my career is very interested and it has chemistry than other careers don’t have, this year was to introduce us in our career with calculus, mechanics and general chemistry I and II.

The workload wasn’t heavy to me at least in this year because it was my laziness my mistake to study buy I see my friends and classmates and they are very stressfully, well, this last weeks are very fast and they have a really heavy workload because of the last test of the year and we want to approve the subject or be except of the final exam

Other topic of the study is the infrastructure and buildings to do it; the library is small but has study room and tables. We also have a place named anexo, in this place we can study but is place to rest and lunch, so anexo often haven’t a nice smell. Finally in the building Luis Nuñez we have individual study blocks and a computer rooms in the building Luis Cerutti.

In the use of technology as students we have access to labs that count with high tech, in the topic of study we use web platforms and the use of computer programs.

                                                   

POST 18

Well, today I have to talk about my summer holidays, a topic that I have thought so much, since the past summer, I’d like to visit Machu Picchu but it’s very expensive to me, because I want go alone or with any friend and go with my family will be difficult too because I started the university and the spend of that it have been so much, however, I think go in the future.

To this summer ,a friend, called Aracely, and I have planned visit Chiloé, we want know the Chiloé national park and camping next to a river.

To make real this plan we have save our money, working and seeing places where we can go.

With my family I want to go Futaleufu again because now I want to know new unexplored places for me, places like lakes, mountains, caverns and rivers.

I’d like to visit my grandmother, aunties and my cousin in Osorno, it’s an activity that I planned too.

Apart of all this, I’d like to go to the beach, rest on my house, watch TV-series and walking, I’d like to meet again with all my friends of Puerto Montt. Finally on my last week I’d like to go to camping on a beach with my father or my friends.

The summer is closer and I want to it come, because I going to see my family and I going to go Puerto Montt.

POST 17

Well in this post I have to talk about drugs of abuse, I think the most important drug is the alcohol, because it’s the commonest, the alcohol is a psychotropic depressor of CNS, that’s why causes slurred speech, silliness and drowsiness on the person that has drunk. The alcohol has a strong social role in so many cultures and here in Chile isn’t an exception, it’s a drug with that I am familiar, from my family to my friends, I think all of them, even me, we had drunk alcohol.

The alcohol is the only drug that I’ve tried, so, how it’s known the alcohol causes to who drink it barf, forgetfulness and hang over to the next day, but to me, just barf and a little thirst in the morning.

When I see to someone that had smoke marijuana or it is drunk, or I remember myself in that state, it´s some fun. How we talk or how it processed the information that comes to this person, it is fun.

Many times the drugs are used to get out of the reality, even of a physical pain or an emotional pain, without mention a social nonconformity. In other cultures, specially the oriental one, the drugs are used to come to other psychological level, for the meditation.

The addiction of drugs is very dangerous, the dependence is an effect that made you look for the drug and you couldn’t live without these.

The most common withdrawal symptoms are shaking chill, headache, weakness, dizziness, sweating, dehydration and more.

Fortunately I don’t know anyone addicted to drugs.

POST 16

When I finish my major I want to study a MS degree while I finish my professional degree, the course that I want to take would be in biochemistry, actually, the other semester I want to take the subject “general biology” and the follow subjects, to start to add knowledge about biochemistry and when I have to postulate to MS degree in biochemistry, I have the necessary requirements to be accepted.

I want the MS degree in biochemistry because this MS let me continue with my studies in the area that I want, how I already said in my previous blog (POST 15) I would like to study a PhD degree in neuroscience.

In the syllabus in the MS shows 4 subject of biochemistry; however 2 of them are of my interest, “Applied clinical biochemistry” and “Toxicological biochemistry and molecular diagnostics”.

I prefer to study abroad, maybe in USA or France, even UK, but it wouldn’t worry me study here in Chile in this same university. I would like to study abroad because I want to meet new people and know new places, and see the difference in the education systems.

The way that I want to study is while I’ll be finishing my professional degree.

But my PhD degree in neuroscience, I want to get it in other country whatever happens, in which country I don´t care.

POST 15

What kind of job would I like to have? Well, the first part of this is easy, I want to be a scientist, I love the science and I want to apply it, so I would like to have a job where I can investigate, be in the lab, have an apron, play with chemistry, that it’s, I want a job where I can play and discover news knowledge, so I think I want a job indoors in a lab. Add to this, when I work I want be in the ground searching the samples for my lab job, I really want a job where I can be outdoors and indoors. I want to be on the field, to know places, get dirty, travel and enjoy the effort that I would be making.

I want a salary with which I can travel or live easily, and return the money to my mom; she is paying my studies in the university.

The major that I studying is Chemistry, so the hopes to work in a lab are high, When I finish that I want to continue my studies with a master in biochemistry, because I want dedicate to study neuroscience.

 In conclusion, I want a job that allow me keep learning and make me a better scientist :)

POST 14

I hate to talk about music, I aren’t a cultural music, I like music and I enjoy hearing it but when somebody ask me about a song or my favorite music style, It’s really hard to answer that for me and it isn’t because I don’t have a choice it’s because I don’t know about that world. The worst part of this, the music is everywhere. However, I think that I can decide for a kind of music, a specific singer or a song.

If I have to choose a style of music that I like the most, I wouldn’t choose one of them, anyway, I like the most jazz, pop, music of series and rock.

I like the sound of a ukulele, a saxophone and keyboards, like a piano or a bandoneon. When a song has that type of instruments, the song really produces a peace on me.

I have to say, when a videogame has a good soundtrack is really emotional to play it. The atmosphere that involves you is an experience of feelings. If I can remember music of a film is of Guardians of Galaxy, also I remember music of videogames or series, the soundtrack of Batman: Arkham city, Portal 1 & 2 and the Skyrim. About music in series, the songs of Steven Universe or Adventure time, for me, they are amazing :) .

About singers or bands that I like, I can name Queen, Billy Joel and one of the compositor of the series, that I named before, Rebecca Sugar (creator of Steven Universe).
